Some domain extensions have a minimum register period of 2 years: e.g co.uk is £10 for 2 years. This is set by the Registry.

Your website name
A domain name is your website's address on the internet, every website requires its own unique domain name.
The two most popular domain extensions are .co.uk and .com and we advise you register one of these if your preferred domain is available.
You can search to see if your domain is available in the search
box on the left, domain names must not have "spaces" or "underscores
_ " they must be one continuous words although you can use "hyphens
- " to join words together.
