Search engine optimisation:
When you use a search engine such as Google to find a website or information, the words you type in are known as 'keywords'. Search engines use keywords to establish which webpages on the internet are the most relevant to what someone is searching for.
So how does this effect your website?
If we use a Cleaning services website as an example:
You would expect a user to type in a search engine 'office cleaners' or 'office cleaner london' or 'house cleaner leeds' etc etc. So by adding relevant keywords to your website is very beneficial for search engine optimisation purposes.
So, to be found in the search engines you need relevant keywords, relevant page titles and page descriptions, not to mention the actual contents of the page itself.
To do this -
1. Log into your admin area
2. Click 'Pages' tab and choose a page to edit or add a new page from scratch.
3. Again, using a Cleaning services website as an example
Enter: office cleaner london, in the Page Title box as this page is going to be all about an office cleaning service for London area.
4. Scroll down to Page Keywords and add keywords and short phrases relevant to this particular webpage, such as - office cleaner, cleaners, london office cleaning service, cleaning services london.
5. Scroll down to Page Description and add a short paragraph describing the services you offer for this particular webpage, such as - We provide both commercial and domestic cleaning services in London.
6. Click 'Update page' to save the above changes.
Now you must make your Post or page contents relevant by adding keyword rich paragraphs and information relating to your business.
To summarise -
When creating a page, make the page and post titles relevant to what the page is about, always add keywords and short keyword phrases and summarise your page with a short descriptive paragraph.
Finally make the contents of the page informative with keyword rich paragraphs using Posts. Please contact us here or from your client area for any assistance.
